Just saw an artical in this months Co-Op farming news. Seems they won the best fried chicken in the state. Says they sell 2000lbs a week. Anybody down that way ever eat there and is it really that good....?

I think Skinny owns stock in the place.

It's good fried chicken but not even the best within 50 miles much less the state. Martin's in Montgomery is better in my opinion.

It's okay. Average at best. It helps that Chicken Shack is on a major beach corridor and one of the few places to eat for miles. Plus Crenshaw Co folks view it with a certain amount of nostalgia. Prattville has a similar version in Jim's Restaurant. Never understood what anybody liked about that restaurant, except that it's been there for decades.

It's pretty good, and it's very consistent. I'd rather have Red's Schoolhouse in Grady myself, but they are both really good.

Chicken Shack has a real good burger and good milk shakes too

Haven't been in ages, but I only recall it being OK. Went to It Don't Matter this Saturday & theirs was surprisingly really, really good, especially for a buffet.

Tin Top is Good. The owner Robert Misisldine is a great guy. He was really nice to us when we took my elderly parents to the beach and stopped by there on the way back home. He made sure we all had a nice meal and a good time. Great place and really good food.

Is Tin Top the place across the road from McDonalds?

"Soft" fried chicken gizzards at the chicken shak are the bomb diggity.

Reds School House is more like what Grandma would make. Delicious! They got a good steak on Friday's too.

Hard to beat a cheeseburger from The Chicken shack after an All Star Baseball game. Also hard to beat a nice sit down meal at reds old school house after an evening squirrel hunt. Have had both on several occasions. And the thought of both have my mouth watering.
