When you find depressed vegetation or leaves in a deer like shape that might be a bed. If it is a bed there is probably deer poop close by and you should be able to find some deer hair in the bed.

The white belly hair is always a dead give away for me looking at beds. And yes deer in general love bedding in young pines that are thick and otherwise "unhuntable". A really big bed that is heavily worn down is indicative of an older deer. That plus rubs in the general area although not always the case if you hunt low deer density areas. I always key in on a combination of things to find beds: 1) elevation changes and thick cover. A thick east west running ridge with secondary points is great.
