A good friend of mine that also lives in the Tampa area was rejected. Only he wasn't rejected twice like most folks. Ha.

Hm, though I had read it was resident or lifetime resident license holders when I applied last year. I won an SOA waterfowl hunt last year, ended up costing me $700 because I have a black duck and black X mallard with Blake Wilson now 😏
Edit: I just remembered where I read the resident requirement, it was when I was reading the alligator drawing rules and contemplating entering the drawing! My bad. If I was making the rules I would most certainly keep the SOA hunts open to residents only. I did not apply for the alligator hunt because it says preference points are given to those who did not get drawn in prior years, which lead me to beleive id have zero shot at this years drawing because I've never applied before (and I don't like wasting money). I'm not going to apply year after year to MAYBE get drawn down the road to shoot an alligator (they're tasty, but I don't hate them that bad). I am curious as to why the state would charge residents to apply for a residents only alligator hunt, but give non-residents free chances to hunt our deer , turkey, and waterfowl. Seems like it would be the other way around.

You ain’t telling me this ain’t a made up deal. Hell, they sent the email too early. It's all Chucky's friends got drawn I bet.

I registered for all of them again this year. I got an alternate for the Fred T. Stimpson archery hunt on 10-25.
