Went into Marks this afternoon to purchase a box of Barnes 130gr TTSX for the Tikka Compact I picked up for my girlfriend. They were out of stock on the ammo but I did find a Remington Model 7 in 7MM08 that left with me. First Remington product I have ever purchased. The rifle is in great shape, only downside is that it has the Jlock mechanism.

You can by a bolt shroud from Brownells to get rid of the J lock

I've got one that has the j-lock. I initially thought I would hate it and change it, but it's never been an issue. I don't plan on ever changing it out.

It might have been an impulse, but you could have made a lot worse decision than that... Yeah. Like, buying a gun for your girlfriend.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Apparently, I misspoke. While everyone and their brother makes one for a 700, no one - that I can find - makes one for a Model Seven. If I remember correctly, The Seven part is slightly shorter than the 700... Midwest Gun Works has a factory replacement Mash 'Righ HereIf you start experiencing buyers remorse for the impulse purchase, let me know. I know how to cure that and will be happy to see if I can help!!

That’s a good looking rifle. 7-08 is a great round.

That’s a good looking rifle. 7-08 is a great round. Thank you. Thinking this rifle will get fed a diet of either 120gr Fusion or 120gr TTSX.

If I'm not mistaken that Model Seven 7-08 is gonna have a 1:9 twist rate which will really like the heavier bullets. My all time favorite 7-08 factory round is 140gr Nosler Partition. Nice rifle by the way!

That gun has the old Walker style trigger. It is very adjustable.

You’re going to enjoy that gun. I owned one for 15 minutes season before last. Shot one deer with it and it crushed it. Federal Fusion 140s if memory serves.
