Anyone know of a gas station/store in the Curry area that serves cathead biscuits? heard someone on JOX talk about it this morning and said they are the best anywhere....

That would be Browns Grocery. They make a tenderloin biscuit that is awesome

It’s not actually in curry. It’s north of Jasper where hwy 5 and hwy 257 (curry hwy) meet.

Brown's is "Straycat Approved". Great biscuits.

Get a tenderloin, egg and cheese. And make plans to have a bathroom break before lunch grin

It’s one of the few “old school” service stations in Jasper. You can still buy crickets and minnows there. For years it was owned by a local family. I’m pretty sure they sold out to Indians a couple years ago BUT they have made an effort to keep things the same and not turn it into a head shop like many others do.

My 8 year old and my nephew love to go up there and get a biscuit

That's where my screen name comes from. When I work day shift, i always stop and get a biscuit there. My wife complains about me spending money on biscuits there all the time. Can't stop though. Best biscuits ever. Bacon, fried egg and cheese

I used to love Browns back in the day. Sadly like every other gas station it is now owned by the habibi's.

I go every Sunday morning. Fried Bologna, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit. I thought the community was going to turn on the new owners but, as long as they don't change the biscuit recipe, they are going to be ok..lol

Oh, and they added a liquor store and will order about anything you want.

The quality has gone down the past couple years IMO.

I have eat a lot of those over the years and they are good, but they use to be ever better several years ago. Bacon egg and cheese and big chocolate milk will definitely hold you over till lunch.

Agreed. It’s not what it was 2 or 3 years ago. We hunt about 4 miles up the road so I’m in there a good bit and it has seemed to go down more here lately

No disrespect but my 10 year old granddaughter even knows what the difference is between a biscuit and a cathead is.
