The title is 45-70 but looks like the topic evolved to include most big bore lever gun calibers. Even the 44 Russian was mentioned. Thus my original question, "Why not a 405 Winchester"? Guess I could have started one of those spin-off threads.
Nuthing wrong with any rifle caliber, cept the 35 Remington and 7-08. They both suck.
