His speech about the draft bill beer made national headlines and is my personal favorite. Local News/Talk radio station down here in Mobile (106.5, call letters escape my failing memory) plays an audio clip several times every day. It has (what my racist I suppose mind thinks) is a black man's voice asking "Wha's wrong wit da beeyah we got?, I mean da beeyah we got drank prutty good, don it?". The spelling there is intended to represent the tone and vernacular (?) the phrase is spoken in btw. I just assumed it was a random clip of some young guy being funny. You CAN NOT really mean to tell me that was an elected official from our state, and that was during actual deliberations about a bill in the legislature? Jesus Christ.
