he didn't hunt over bait and I promise ya he killed 15-+ EVERY season. Killing 3-4 in one morning was common. Kill one hang it, go to the next bird ya heard, kill it, hang it, repeat.


That used to be possible. Until every swinging dick in the state got a pocketful of mouth calls and an owl hooter, then started riding the roads and tromping through the woods.
Back in the 80s you could hear 6, 8, 10 gobblers at daybreak. Get on one, go eat breakfast, get on another one.
