I was just out shooting my bow and when I released the arrow I heard a crack and felt a pain in my hand. Looked down and I was bleeding like a stuck hawg. Got the bleeding stopped and am waiting on the boss lady to come take me to get stitches. I thought I had a limb break or something but it was an arrow. I don't know what happened to my arrow, but it broke clean into and part of it stuck in my off hand. Hurts like a summer beach, but I am gonna live. Anybody ever had this happen??

As unlucky as you may feel - I would get down and thank the Lord it wasn't worse. I hate to think what could have happened - hopefully you will have a speedy recover.

Don't know what the situation is gonna be for opening day, may have to borrow a crossbow for the first week or 2. Might be a little tendon damage, just don't know yet. On a side note I have to give props to Trussville Urgent Care. I was in and outta there in no time. Now I'm just scared to shoot my bow. Hey WIDGEON, you wanna shoot it for me and check it out?

Did you get some good drugs? You probably hit that arrow with another arrow because you're shooting at the same spot on your target. Carbon arrows are not like aluminum, if you scrape them with a second aro, they will splinter. The break may not be obvious right away. The stress from additional shots will eventually cause it to shatter. Always shoot your carbon arrows at different spots. I know the tight group looks cool, but now you got a hole in your hand.

I broke mine out the other day, I love that dang thang...Glad it wasn't any worse, hopefully you will heal up by February :p Always shoot your carbon arrows at different spots. I know the tight group looks cool, but now you got a hole in your hand. That is some good advice, even if it was from Outback...

I had one explode about a month ago... Initially I couldnt figure out what happened... all I heard was a loud noise and could hear stuff hitting in the trees 50' above my head... all i found was a 4" section from the middle of the arrow and the nock so it broke in at least 2 places... this arrow had been used and abused so it was probably my fault but it looked good to me and had no visible pbms...
it was a Beman ICS Hunter (400)

Like Sonny said, I had it happen and it was a brand new arrow, sounded like a .38 going off when I released
