Build a trap, you can wipe them out A buddy of mine built one a few years back - he had very good success. A few chicken necks, a carpeted plank, and a framed wooden box with wrapped in chicken wire slightly submerged in water. Turtles walk the plank, so to speak, fall into trap and can’t get out. Very conclusive but my grandkids would not have fun. and .22 shells are cheap
