I killed this deer two Sundays ago. I shot this deer with my bow back on November 5th but shot low and hit him in the upper leg. Long story short: he gave me a second chance and walked out in a green field at 4:45 PM so I dropped him in his tracks. He is a management buck but was a trophy to me and I was proud to harvest him. He weighed in at 203lbs and was 4.5 or 5.5 years old. The scar from my rage arrow was still visible on the right front leg and it hit at the perfect angle to do the least damage possible. He was a main frame 6 with a 4" kicker that dropped off of his right base.

I revised my post. I worded that wrong. I did and do consider this deer a trophy. If not I wouldn't have done a Euro Mount on him. I watched this deer for two years and should have taken him out of the gene pool due to his rack...or lack thereof. I probably saw this deer 40 times over the past two years plus this one and that is why I was so excited to finally get him in bow range. I just misjudged the yardage and hit him 8" too low. I was grinning from ear to ear for a good three hours after dropping him. Mature bucks are hard to come by. Especially in our neck of the woods.

Congrats. Got a bigger picture? I can't see it.
