I still hunt with a 1998 Bear Whitetail Supreme 70 # draw. I just can't find a reason to change. Does anyone else shoot an older bow?

I see new bows every year but still can't find a reason to buy one even if I could afford it.

I am right there with you I would not mind having a new one but they are pricey...I still shoot an old Proline...not the fastest but will get the job done..

I shoot a 1969 Bear Takedown recurve, bought it new in 1969. Killed a deer most every year since.

I shoot an early to mid 90's McPherson made here in Alabama. It's a decent bow, but unfortunately, I've never had a deer come close enough to my stand to shoot at while using a bow. I've shot hundreds and hundreds of practice shots at archery bags and foam deer targets, but never a single shot at a real deer. So, I guess this bow would kill a deer, but I have no proof yet.

I shoot a Jennings Buckmasters edition that i bought used when i was 14. It took me 4 years to get my first deer with it but i have killed at least 1 deer with it every year since. I am now 24. It shoots great and I feel comfortable out to 45 yards. I can see absolutely no reason to change and I wont until it breaks and i cant fix it. All my friends get their new bows every year and they always make fun of me for the age of it and how "loud" it is. I have never had a deer jump my arrow, and the funny thing is I can shoot just as good or better than they can. There is no substitute for practice.

old is good Jethro, new is just expensive.

I shoot 20 year old longbows. The deer doesn't know what brand sent the arrow huh? the arrow kills....not the bow.

Mine is a '93 Darton Fury, but I am in the same boat as Vernon. I hunt during bow season then grab my gun.

You'll get harassed at the sporting goods store. When the salesman asks to show me a new bow I always tell them that my wife just bought me a brand spankin new one at Wal-Mart. They usually roll their eyes and walk away. Then I can shop in peace.

I shoot an older white-tail 2. It's a good bow just a little slower and heavy. I'm trying to get something a little lighter for this season though.

I had several High Country Excaliburs back in the early 90's. I'd forgot the name of it, pretty fast bow wit the overdraw.

I was shooting a Bear Magnum Hunter circa 1985 up until this year. I figured I ought to get a new one before they cost as much as a car! I bought a Diamond bow from Bass Pro shop. It's a Black Ice lookalike. The only difference is the label and the price.
