Morally, I don't care. The corrosive effects of the "war on drugs" are too numerous to count. The government has spent billions in the last 40 years, but the price (per milligram of THC) has gone steadily downward. If you are middle class/rich and get popped, Daddy's lawyer pleads you out and you pay a fine/get in a program. If you are poor, you get hung with a record for the rest of your life. We've created a nation of scofflaws, since it is commonplace, yet the government claims to be completely serious about eliminating it. Used to be a lifeguard, until that blue kid got me fired.
