Stranded on the side of highway 53 near Ardmore. Tow truck on the way. This is a 2015 with about 60k miles. Hit a pothole pretty hard about 2 miles back but nothing really out of the ordinary for these parts. The truck was acting like it was down shifting and then up shifting so I started to pull off the road and lost all power. Now it will not crank at all. What could be the cause of this? Know anybody good out towards Ardmore/harvest/Madison/Huntsville?

Make sure battery terminals are clean and tight!

Be sure to check the wiper fluid.

I’m betting it’s something to do with the battery.

338 is on it. Low blinker fluid can definitely cause this issue. Clem, IMO I've never seen low wiper fluid cause the truck not to start or shifting issues. Low wiper fluid generally causes the truck to just run really rough and can keep the A/C from blowing cold.

In all seriousness, check your battery to make sure something wasnt jarred loose. Make sure all the connections are tight. Will the truck turnover at all? If not, and you hit the pothole really hard, you may have broken broken a plate loose in the battery and if it is laying over and touching another plate you're out of luck. Definitely sounds like an electrical issue to me.

Blinker fluid's a given, of course, so I always recommend checking the wiper fluid just in case.

That pothole may have jarred loose the whatchamacallit from the gizmo near the whoosit in the battery thingy near the electrical grid. If it was a '77 Chevy you could just lift the hood and cuss at it to get it going again.

Un loosened the battery and left unhooked for a few. Still nothing. Will turn over but not crank. It is being towed to mechanic now.

If it was a 77 Chevy Truck you would cuss from raising the hood because it would be broke almost in half right in front of the hinges. A broken hood was standard equipment on the mid 70's Chevy and the GMC trucks too.

My guess is the battery shorted out internally...seen it happen before just as you described

Did it hit hard enough to trip the fuel shutoff?
