If you haven't seen the Netflix documentary on the famous sushi place in Japan, check it out. I think it's $400-500/person to eat there. Only like 6-8 spots a night. He hand-serves you every "course". Very unassuming looking place.
"Jiro dreams of sushi" is the name of it. Great documentary on how precise and committed the Japanese are to whatever they do. I like to tell people that the sushi I got at the 'konbini' (convenience store=7-11, Lawson, etc.) was about 10 times as good as any at so-called sushi restaurants here. And the good places I went to were just terrific, nothing like them here.
