The second law of thermodynamics disagrees with that.
Second law of thermodynamics is for a closed system. The sun makes the earth an open system. But the whole universe is one closed system. Other than including an all powerful being (which Hawking denied), nothing is inputting energy, and the second law applies. The universe as a whole in increasing in entropy with pockets that trend toward order (pockets are not a closed system). You are right as you mentioned earlier that 2nd law of thermodynamics is for a increase in disorder, not order from chaos as previously mentioned. I’m certainly not saying I agree with Hawking. Too late at night to be thinking this deeply.
