If you don’t want a background check done buy 80% AR lowers and build your own. How does that avoid it? The receiver is what has the serial number and requires the background check?? The lower is 80% complete. It doesn't need a serial number since it isn't complete. You finish it on your own with a drill press. Can't resale it or make one for a buddy. I get it, so it's just the receiver that's actually 80% complete, not the whole lower. You have to drill all the holes, etc to mil-spec yourself. Youre correct. You can purchase JIGS that fit different lowers, 1911's etc to make it easier. https://www.80percentarms.com/collections/lower-jigs
