Beware the Ides of..........April April 7th or 8th 1987 I was at Mt. Carmel cemetery on Georgia Mountain for my Grandma Gullion's funeral/burial. It had been a very nice Spring for several weeks preceding this event and absolutely everything was budded out or blooming. The day of the funeral it was in the low 20s, spitting snow/sleet and an East wind of about 25mph. It was terribly miserable weather for a burial. And it killed all mast crops. No fruit, no nut trees produced, no acorns, no nothing. Pretty sure i remember looking at some first leaf cotton on or about that day. It was stinkin COLD!
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Blackbeery winter aint it? Still have blackberry winter coming if i aint mixed up Yes, a cold snap when they start blooming.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Was out with the dogs a few minutes ago and heard the Sandhill Cranes headed back north. This is earlier than normal for us. Had a big flock fly over my house this evening.

First we've got Dogwood winter, then we'll have Blackberry winter. Then they'll be another winter around the first week of May. Then it'll be 100 until Thanksgiving.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.
Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

We had very quiet fall/ winter down south this year, only a few thunderstorms in the past few months and really no severe weather (One Nader warning North East of us a week ago) to speak of. Im afraid this could be a very active spring. I hope not......
