Lost my brother-in-law to heroin in August. 35 years old and had been clean for a year and a half, it would appear that his first hit took him out. Leaves the family with a lot of confusion, guilt, and questions. According to him, it all started when he had a motorcycle accident and he got hooked on prescription opioids. When the government cracked down on the pills no one could afford to get them off of the street, so everyone got on heroin. We all know the rest of the story, a slow, then fast crumbling of a once successful, promising life. Of course there were too many people that bailed him out, thinking they were doing the right thing. Honestly though, I don't know the right thing. Pray and leave them in God's hands is all I know. The opioid epidemic has touched so many families and is only getting worse. As mcninja said, "I hate drugs".
