I wasn't up there today and don't know the stories, but Mike found two bucks on Pine Ridge Hunting Club today. Everybody at the club was very happy.

Lucy was a hero for a buddy over MLK weekend at our club near Billingsley. The deer went 2 miles, crossing onto our neighbors and then back onto us. A great example of why it’s good to know and be on good terms with your neighbors. I was able to contact and get permission to cross their property in minutes, and they even offered to help. We’d do the same for them.

I hate I missed the fun!

Thanks Mike!

Things have slowed down so I have some time to post some pictures and relive some exciting tracks we have been on!
I can't emphasize how thank full I am to all the great alabama outdoorspersons that have entrusted me and my dogs to recover their deer.
We have had a fantastic recovery rate/percentage so far this year.
As of this morning we have put 131 deer on the tailgate of those 131,61 had to be bayed up and dispatched
and we still have 5 days
I try my very best to get to everyone that calls but sometimes due to unforseen circumstances I can't get to everyone.i hope you are understanding!
this buck is one of the biggest that we have recovered this season to date.
What do you think he will score?

That’s where it was hit.

That's my preferred shot placement, as well; .45-70 right in the ankle artery. Results in least meat loss and cape damage for having him mounted.

You have to have quick reflexes as a marksman, but it will drop them every time.

My Mal Taz recovered a much smaller buck shot in exactly the same spot. Shooter backed off the track pretty quick and called me. It was about seven hours later I got there, tracked the deer a couple of hundred yards and jumped it. I let Taz go and she bayed it 200 yards along. It broke away when we approached, but Taz bayed it again in another 150 yards. We slipped quietly up and finished it just before dark.

Congrats Mike.
