House I grew up in had a large cemetery behind it. We bordered its back most part. Never even paid it any attention. Rarely ever saw anyone back there and it was always quiet.
Dont like the view plant some evergreens down the property line.

Probably a lot of active Democratic voters planted there

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Sure. It will affect the value, but really only a buffer of it.

Why don’t you consider buying the top section only? There is no real reason to buy that much acreage within the city unless you plan to develop.

That is an odd shaped cemetery. I bet there are unmarked burials in the tract you are considering.

I was going to mention that.

Once they are planted, it is nearly impossible to have them removed.

No offense but I didn't ask your opinion. I have an 8 year old and a 4 year old. My 8 year old is in 2nd grade but his reading and math are on a 4th grade level according to the progress report I got today. Keeping them in a Nationally Ranked Blue Ribbon School is mandatory which means we have to stay in city limits. Plus I like being close to town yet with enough property to wander.

There's a cemetery connected to the subdivision I live in. Haven't seen any boogers yet.

Possible but my line is a LONG ways from where that cemetery started.

The property across the street to the west is actually county. So yeah I could get buy with a shot here or there. I have a private range 15 min from there so it's not a big issue. I would bow hunt the property anyway

I used to live right across from there. Gray house with big pond behind it across hwy 5. I lived on about 30 acres and had a little range set up. First time I shot some guns I had 3 jasper city cops show up. They were nice. They looked at my range and saw everything was safe and left, asked me to call and let them know when I shoot. I would call and give them a heads up and they were cool about it. Thats not a bad area. I never had any issues at all there and it doesn't feel like city limits. Shoot me a pm if you have any questions. I live not far from there now.

Nauvoo ain't really a city. More like a small community. With 33 acres you won't know you're in the city.

Looks like that is actually in Jasper not Nauvoo.

haleyville al,
Out back it's a different prospect road. I thought the same for a minute. Prospect road in nav. I don't think I could have anything in that area. My preacher used to live around new prospect road. It's a good area. No the grave yard would not bother me. Later on you might can sale lots when the graveyard fills up. 3x7 lot for at least 600.00 will pay the place off in no time.

That's the best reason yet.

Josh, I like the land. 30 acres behind you belong to New Prospect Church also. So you only have to worry about neighbors to the north.

It would be a lot better than a sewage treatment plant, a HUD housing area or a garbage dump.

Hey Josh if your not going to buy it PM me with who has it listed please. If you buy it, and bow hunt it.... you better start buying arrows now. There is more deer in that area then you will believe.

Wouldn't bother me a bit. Actually, it would make it more attractive to me personally. You're guaranteed nothing will be built on that side of you. I used to rent a place that butted up next to a cemetery, years ago. Not trying to be funny but it was very quiet. I was hesitant at first but ended up liked living there.

Like my Grandmother used to say, "the dead's not going to bother you. It's the living you've got to worry about."
