Lots of folks are into supplemental feeding these days. Nothing wrong with that. You are correct and 95% of it will end 3 weeks from today.

feeding during deer season only ain't supplemental feeding What is it then? Winter is really the only time deer need supplemental feed. In the summer they have plenty of food.

What I've seen is more eating in late winter/early spring and end of Aug/ Sept. Kinda my point I bet most people feed aug-feb. Can't feed during turkey season if you want to hunt it. Then in the summer people plant summer plots. So is it not considered supplement feeding if you don't feed may-jul?

Took the phone so he couldn't contact his buddies prior to his arrival. they did this to us one morning in bow season 2016. 2 GW were sitting at our trucks when my buddy walked out, they didn't "take his phone", but made him leave it and not text us while they walked to his field to check for corn. then they all sat there and waited for the other two of us to come out, and then went and checked where we had hunted. actually climbed up in the stands to make sure they had been sat in, I had climbed, and they agreed that the tree had recently been climbed. Split us up and confirmed all out stories lined up. We were all clear, but I was surprised how thorough they were. really nice guys, I like them both. We sat around and talked for a while afterwards. I was appreciative they didn't ruin anyones hunt

In the summer they have plenty of food. yer ignorance of deer nutrition is shining brightly.....late summer is tough on deer as is late winter/early spring. I'll be 90+% of your so called "supplemental feeders" quit feeding the day season goes out. No extra feed in mid/late Feb or early March at a time when the woods are low on feed. Where are the so called supplemental feeders???? They are at home waiting on next BAITING SEASON is where they are.

I am not naive enough to pretend that setting up corn feeders is not baiting. It absolutely is baiting, but so is a greenfield. A greenfield is just as much baiting as a feed station, let's not kid ourselves.
What is interesting is how so many people on here are for big government stealing people's money because they hunt over one form of bait over another. Amazing how many of these good ol country boys are for the government taking peoples money and putting them in jail over something as dumb as hunting over bait, probably wouldn't feel the same way if a greenfield (which is bait) was outlawed.
I understand if you don't want to use corn or other feeds. I just feel like that should be your individual decision and not the government's. That is why i am for them legalizing it.
If you don't want to use it, dont, it's that simple. I imagine the game wardens would probably appreciate the current laws being cleaned up and it would probably make their job easier not having to ninja around looking for corn. Then they can refocus their time into chasing down serious offenders like trespassing and road hunters.
I don't currently use corn or other bait because I obey the law, but if it's legalized I will run some year round feeders.

It’s somewhat comforting to see that both N2 and BC have been hassled by GW Aurora Thomas as well. So he just doesn’t single out yankees . Bythe way, I met BC and his boy a couple of years ago when he was a guest turkey hunter at our club. Good guy and accomplished turkey hunter.

I was checked Friday at 9:15 AM by GW Aurora Thomas. He checked my license and asked about corn. I was in a box blind in the woods on private land. At 3:15 on Friday GW Mike Heath walked into my ladder stand and asked for my license and about corn. On Saturday at 2:00PM GW Heath stopped me in my ATV outside our camp. I told him it was my third stop in 2 days. On Saturday at 3:00 PM in a different box blind GW Thomas drove right up to me and said he wanted to check for corn. He walked the entire perimeter of the large greenfield I was on. I thanked him for ruining both a morning hunt and an evening hunt in a two day period. He said they’d “received reports of corn off a fire road” but couldn’t specify where the alleged corn was located. I asked him why he wasn’t checking people at the nearby WMA instead of disturbing hunts on private land. I also told him our club president, a Circuit Court Judge was aware of the multiple checks in a two day period. Good ole aurora is the same pos that gave me a baiting ticket when I was 18 for standing in a roadway with a gun on my shoulder. Sounds like he is still being an arse.
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

This is exactly why hunting over bait should carry a MASSIVE fine and include jail time. Make it so nobody would risk it. This is so stupid. YEAH, that's what we need. More government intervention in our lives and MASSIVE fines and jailing for doing something that doesn't hurt anyone...good idea! That would be great for really encouraging those young up and coming hunters.

Real hunter don't need to hunt over corn. Have you forgotten it can lead to disease in deer population too?
Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

Real hunter don't need to hunt over corn. Have you forgotten it can lead to disease in deer population too? That is true they don't need it. But they also don't need green fields or shooting houses or climbing stands or high powered rifles or compound bows or crossbows or coverscents, etc.... see how that goes. I like to have the FREEDOM to choose and not be told by big government what you can or can't use. That is kind of like the gov telling you what gun they think you NEED or don't NEED. On the disease subject, I guess all the deer in TX and other states that allow corn have just died off from disease right?

Yeah, still waiting on that widespread disease due to the baiting in all those states that allow it. It's pretty funny how folks that constantly talk about getting government out of our lives are all for more govt intervention and even going against the 8th amendment over a damn kernel of corn!!
