Yea, those are not true redeye bass. They are only native to the Coosa, Tallapoosa, Cahaba, Black Warrior, and Chattahoochee rivers in Alabama. Specifically above the Fall Line in those drainages. There is species of spotted bass in the Choctawahatchee called Choctaw bass. I grew up down there in Geneva, AL.
