Free day off work, going to see those deer come by again. Maybe get some snow too.

Dang the woods sound almost like turkey season woods with all of the birds waking up this morning. Maybe the 8 pt that I passed on yesterday will come by again with his other friend. Yesterday it was a spike but there’s a brute traveling with him some.

Been a while since I been in tree. Hunting a grass patch that is mainly used as a travel route.

Finally a deer.

Work called as soon as I was walking out the door this morning. Now I'm headed to the woods until the stuff gets bad!

I’ll be here till dark or I’m frozen

5 does and no buck. Next time if it’s brown and over 80# it’s down. Then I’ll hunt a few hours more before getting down.

Going to wait to see how this evening goes weather wise before I head out.

Had to leave for a bit. Just got back up. As I was climbing a doe came in patch. Luckily wind allowed me to climb and get ready without spooking.

I’m hunting Black Warrior this afternoon. The wind is blowing pretty dang hard on this green field. A buck has been working the edges of the field for the last week. I guess he didn’t get the memo that the ruts over. Good luck and stay warm.

Sit on the ground watching a small food plot. Saw one unknown deer slipping through. Shot a coyote with the recurve at 8 yards. Didn’t find him but didn’t look real hard. Didn’t have a flashlight

Best day yet, saw 8 or so on the way in and had 2 young ones within 30-40 yards. Feels good to finally see something.

had a great afternoon hunt. buddy and I hunted two grass patches with the 15 mph winds. had a doe come in the patch while I was climbing. since it was windy I was able to get in and set up and not spook her. she fed from 1330 till dark. about 1700 two does and a yearling come in the east side of the patch and start feeding. about 1715 it looks like someone hit them with a q ball. they go in every direction. I knew what was taking place and stood up with bow in hand and hear he comes out the trail. he ran them all over that end of the patch at about 80 yards. all I could tell he was chocolate horns and heavy with a big body. at 1740 he finally runs the does in front of me and hes grunting every breath and all I could do was watch him.. he stopped at 18 yards broadside where a doe peed this morning during the morning hunt but it was too late to see the pins.. I drew back just to see but it was past legal shooting hours. I was heart broke.... then I got back to my truck and my buddy was already there. he had a longer walk than me so I was dumb founded. needless to say he shot right under one at 22 yards. basket rack 8.
