Looking for some experience with this breed. Anyone know any local breeders?

I've seen a few at test and trials. I think there is a breeder in Georgia. I don't have any experience training them, but the few WPGs I've seen, seemed to be good natured dogs.

Thanks AFO. Apparently not a popular breed for us, but I've got to have one! My golden is getting old. I think the WPG is next.

If looking for a versatile hunting breed; might also want to consider the German Wirehaired Pointer. May be a bit easier to find. Always thought they were cool dogs and were on my list till I decided on a smaller breed and got a Field Bred English Cocker.

How did that griffon work out as a Christmas present?

Worked out great Reb. He(Ruger) is 10 weeks. Highed spirited, but with a good temperment. We're very pleased so far. Especially my 11 year old son that had the "best Christmas ever!"

Glad to hear. They are some loyal dogs. But man I have not met one more stubborn. Good luck!
