There’s a guy I know, and I’d put his trophy room up against anybody’s in this state, and he don’t pay the wind no flipping mind at all. my grandpa is that way, never considers the wind and has killed some studs, of course, he doesn't have a trophy room because he doesn't care about the horns either.

Glad you posted. Been meaning to watch that after I watched some of his hinge cut vids. No way that guy is married with that kind of time on his hands.
Well. If I went through all that all the time I’d have to quit hunting. I do smoke my clothes and packs though.

Whenever I start getting paranoid about scent control, I think about a guy I hunted with years ago at West Colbert. Jimmy would spend the summer finding a buck he wanted to hunt and would take significant strides to control his scent; Clothes washed in unscented soap, showered before going out, no stopping at the store on the way, changed when he got to the woods, etc. The last year we hunted together, "his" buck was killed by the club president as Wayne sat on a rock in his work cloths smoking a cigarette. Wayne's attitude was always "if the wind is wrong, turn around". He was a wise man.

The problem with that "hunt the wind" myth, is here in the south the wind is always wrong.
The wind changes direction constantly.
I've killed deer with my truck, headlights on, and horn blowing. But I don't rely on that method as a general rule.
