I need some help...

The owners of Aldeer have been very generous in giving me a budget of $1000 to buy some prizes for the Sportsmen For Tots Raffle/Dinner coming up in December.

We have previously used this money to buy a rifle, pistol, ceramic grill, and other items. I'm looking for some input on what might be best this year.

Should we split it up to smaller prizes so more people have a better chance of winning something or should we have 2-3 fairly large prizes or just keep it all as a single, huge, Christmas Present for one lucky person?

We can do (10) $100 gift cards or maybe three gift cards like $500, $300 and $200. We can spend $800+ on a Ceramic Grill or a Gun/Scope Combo and put what's left on a Gift Card... The options are unlimited.

Should we offer a gun, an nice scope, a ceramic grill, maybe some venison processing equipment, or simple cash/giftcards?

Ideas and/or suggestions?

I'd like to see it split up to allow for more winners, but I'll be good with whatever is decided. Thanks for what you do Andy thumbup

I like this idea: a ceramic grill, maybe some venison processing equipment, or simple cash/giftcards?

Guns/scopes are nice but expensive. A lot of interest has been shown on the forum the past few months on ceramic grills, processing equip, etc. Get some BPS or Cabela gift cards. I think I saw where BFB said he might donate a ESEE knife. Those are nice too.

I echo the sentiment of thanks for your time in doing this.

Im gonna throw a whitetail shoulder wall ped mount in the prize pool. That's a $450.00 value and the winner will be able to transfer the ticket to family members for the 2011-2012, 2012-2013 seasons.

I don't care how its done. I've yet to win anything, but the real reason for participating has nothing to do with winning. Its about the kids.
Thanks to Bamachem for putting this together again this year.

My company will donate 3 hours of construction consulting time (first $525.00 free). Not sure how useful this will be or how to list as a prize since it is kind of specific, so PM to Skinny and Andy.

I'll have more to put in too. Just have to round it up.

I'm sure with the economy the way it is more people would be more apt to buy a ticket if it was a decent cash prize. Me myself, I'd like to see a decent one and then a gift card or two for the rest.

I'll second a Yeti cooler.

I like every ones idea a few nice, smaller prizes. Venison equipment, maybe a small electric smoker, stuff like that. Yeah Guns are nice, but it's more fun if more people can win.

It's posted. Went with the easiest for all - gift cards! (1) $500, (1) $200, and (3) $100 cards. That way they can be easily mailed/given to the winners and then they can BUY WHAT THEY NEED - gun, scope, grill, gas, etc!
