Would depend on what I was wanting to do with it. Varmit hunting I would want the AR-15, deer hunting the AR-10. Yes, you can kill a deer with a .223 or 5.56 but it doesn't have the FPE of a .308. In a handful of states, it's illegal to deer hunt with a .223. There are better caliber choices in the AR10 platform too, IMO, but I don't own one.
A mans got to know his limitations.
