Just ordered a hammock seat from fanatic for my father in law for Christmas. I had some money left on an amazon gift card so I have a dead ringer hammock seat on order for me(but they are out of stock at the moment)

slippin around and sitting on the ground for a while if you see something you really like and then getting up and slipping around for a while again is the most fun way to hunt em for me.

Nothing beats the rush of hunting on the ground. Sure it's harder, you can't move as much, and wind is even more important, but it's a blast.

Love hunting from the ground but find even my millenium seat to be a burden. Now I'm all hot and bothered wanting one of these hammock seats and NOWHERE online has them in stock.

That's exactly how I hunt now. Crossings, not flood plots. don't see the number of deer anymore, but I see a lot more bucks.

I had never heard of that until reading it in this thread. I looked it up and it's interesting. How does it compare with a gobbler lounger? The disadvantage that's obvious is that you must have a tree, and the lounger doesn't need one. Also, when sitting in a lounger, my knees are up and I can rest the gun on them and be very steady. I don't need a shooting stick with a lounger, but it looks like the hammock gets you further off the ground and I might need one. Is this right?

I have carried the lounger on nearly every rifle hunt I've been on this year. I think I got in a ladder stand once. In many situations I think my odds of success go up in a tree, but I am usually choosing comfort in my old age. I also use a roll up blind when sitting in the lounger and I think that it improves my odds on the ground. If you set it up right, only your head is visible above it.

Yes the hammock seat gets you up off the ground a couple of feet.I've used the primos trigger stick for deer and turkey hunting since they came out.You can swivel around and almost shoot 360 around the tree also.

Cheap folding chair and cheap camo material to hang in a few sticks and limbs put in the ground. Pretty much only way I hunt now if I’m not still hunting. Just make sure you blend in with the surroundings. Big tree behind you never hurts. You don’t want the deer wondering what that new blob is in their neighborhood that wasnt there yesterday

The ability to adjust from sitting on the ground is huge. Swirling winds, adjusting to movement you have already seen, or just cold feet, hunting from the ground offers the ability to move, which is very benefical. However, sllllllow movement and utilizing terrain features is key.

Helpful hint: I always keep a pair of heavy duty medical scissors with we to snip limbs and boats as I move. You can make a lot less noise by cutting as you go.
