I remember when Chizik thought he was a lifer.
Actually, I like Chizik. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if we hired him back....as defensive coordinator. Chiz was one of the best coaches Auburn has ever had. Win the only Championship in 50 yrs and get booted. Dang Family feuds.

Actually, I like Chizik. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if we hired him back....as defensive coordinator. Chiz was one of the best coaches Auburn has ever had. Win the only Championship in 50 yrs and get booted. Dang Family feuds. I liked when Doug Barfield was there.

Another name is Clay Helton at USC. He played his first couple of years at Auburn I think as a QB, but never saw the field, that was during Stan White's time. Auburn fans: amazed anyone would suggest that a coach would leave Auburn to move to Arkansas Also Auburn fans: we should get the USC coach You fudge just a little, don't you JBC. OK with me. Let that imagination run wild.

He was then selling athletic equipment. We talked for about thirty minutes and I really enjoyed it. Super nice man. I’ve also met Malzahn, Chizik, Jay Jacobs and Trooper Taylor when working an assignment at AU. All nice folks. Watched spring practice early every morning at the track and field complex after the 2010 national championship season as well.

Gus is a fool to leave AU. He's got it made in the toughest conference, division and has to face CNS annually. He's actually doing well all things considered.
He also likes to go 2-knuckle deep in a stressful situation and eat at a Waffle House afterwards. Man I love me some Gus.
Been here long enough to go from "bring 'da pain" to " bring 'da pain meds.

Played QB at Nebraska and Standford under Tom Osborne, and Bill Walsh. Played Safety in the NFL under coaches Parcells, Belicheck, and Jon Gruden. OC at Oregon for Kelly and Helfrich Head Coach at UCF 6-7 in his first year, and undefeated this year and in top 25. Good resume, and stellar coaching tree. Played QB and Safety so knows both sides of the ball really well. Young guy that the players really connect with. He actually suited up and played scout team QB for them a couple times this year.
