If wanting to go straight or on rocks, i go to scotch Not to high jack a thread but I had scotch for the first time last weekend. Its only the 2nd drink I've ever enjoyed on the rocks the other being Sailor Jerrys rum But I didn't get the name of the scotch some one poured it for me my question is what is a good scotch thats not To expensive? Standard things you see most places are Johnny Walker (red, black blue, white labels), Chivas Regal, Glenlivit Might try Famous Grouse.

I'd just as soon have Jack Daniels as any of them. 2 fingers of whiskey and 3 ice cubes in a short glass. Having said that ... there may or may not be a bottle of Glenfiddich Special Reserve Single Malt in the cabinet from the mid to late 90's that I break out once a blue moon, usually for child births or funerals.

If you're mixing anything will do. Bought some scotch recently. Terrible and had to mix with coke until used up.
I'd rather get bookers or knob creek on the rocks. Worth the extra expense to me.

Larceny for an affordable bourbon is very hard to beat.
Woodford is my “house” bourbon.
Blanton’s is my favorite when I can find it.
