I wouldn’t be surprised if this topic has been covered ad nauseum here...

But, with bitcoin earning $1,000+ in a day...is anyone here invested in these?

I downloaded the app Coinbase and am seriously considering it. How easy is it to withdraw your money and skip on down the road playing with house money should this trend continue or is my real money lost in a time/space continuum??

It seems pretty interesting but I've just been watching so far.

A few years ago I bought some.

Note that everyone says they should never be used as an investment tool. There's no intrinsic value to this stuff, its not a commodity like hard metals.

I kinda agree with that although my small purchase saw a nice return.

Reminds me exactly of the internet bubble of the late 1990's

I'd through a bit of extra cash at it, if you can afford it. A risk, that could pay off big time.

Been here long enough to go from "bring 'da pain" to " bring 'da pain meds.

I bought and sold bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum for about 10 months. I cashed out with a nice earning.

It is highly volatile, but now that institutional investors are in...I wish I had held it longer.

$100 worth 7 years ago is now worth $200 million. Wish I had bought in back then, but it's due for a crash.

True, but they've been saying that for multiple years now.

I have been thinking about buying some, the problem is that it is so high now it will take me a long time just to own 1 bitcoin, if you spend $50 you get 0.004620 worth of bitcoin at today's price, I have been looking at some of the cheaper crypto currencies...

I've got a tiny bit of Etherium. Wish I'd bought about 100x more. It was a $7 a year ago. It's $415 today and was at $500 a few days ago.

I've been looking at buying some of the cheaper ones (Ripple, Monero) to invest - currently only 22 cents or so..

It's a sanctuary.

I have taken most of the week to gain access to my Circle account that I created back in 2014. I thought I had bought $20 worth back then for the heck of it. Well, I did. Cashed out $168. WISH I had followed this a little closer. I know that is chump change for most but hey, it's mine!

Stuart Varney explained on Fox this morning how it is not an investment. Stupidest thing I've seen since folks buying Iraq money. Dumb friend "invested" in that and lost all. Get rich quick is just that.

Correct. It is not an investment. It is actual money. Just like the US dollar.

Not according to Varney. Fluctuates much more than currency. Folks print out the code and put in safe. He used example of bitcoin being bought for $7000 dropping to $975 in a week and then up to $5700. No stability.

Just because it's erratic, doesn't mean it's not money. Check out Zimbabwe. Their inflation rate is "infinity". It might not be good money, but it's still money.

I've been following it since may. It was 2200 a coin then. It hit 10k the other day. The only reason I didn't get in back in June was because of religious beliefs. Bow after praying about it for a while I don't think anything wrong with it. Wish I'd bought in back then.
