"Who won this game?" is an entirely different discussion from "Who is the better team?". Neither can be determined simply by looking at a stat sheet from a game.
I know. Never said it was. I just used that as an example that Fun4all wasn't too far off kilter!
What if the team that had 500 yards but lost went on to win every other game that year in the SEC, and the team that had 100 yards but won went on to lose every other game that year in the MAC? Who was the best team?
Upsets happen in sports. Dang sure doesn't mean that the "lower" team is better than the "higher" team. That's why they're called "upsets".
Scoreboard isn't always the determining factor of "which team is best".
