I live in a residential neighborhood in Etowah County, Al. I bow hunt some property that borders neighborhoods and even an elementary school on the other side. Last season I noticed a decrease in deer and a big increase in coyotes on our game cams. this year on my first trip, a band of coyotes mixed with dogs came too close by my stand. I can see houses and a school is within several hundred yards. These coyotes have been seen in yards which border the woods and not immediately afraid of humans. There is concern now for small pets and children. I live in a neighborhood that is only 3 to 4 blocks from the property that I bow hunt. There has been 2 coyote sightings in my neighborhood in the last 3 weeks. I myself had one last night in the rain cross my yard and driveway. My question: Is there a state agency which will help to kill/trap these coyotes or will we have to look for private help. There is a lot of people who live near here and would be tough to collect money from them for a trapper unless one would want to kill for the skins? Any suggestions?

no state help available..

Any help is going to have to be private, and there is no money in the skins. You're going to have to pay someone to trap.

It's going to be tough trapping that close to residences with free running dogs. They will get caught also, which is a whole nuther problem.

Get your neighbors to keep their dogs up, and put out an automatic dog feeder with the door propped open. That makes a pretty good bait station. Strow a little feed around the feeder to get them started.

A 22 rifle loaded with Aguilla Sniper Sub Sonics is good, quiet neighborhood coyote medicine.

The yotes are bad enough but the wild dogs are more of a threat.
