For those of you taking youth out this weekend, what is your planned set up? We planted soybeans late and there should at least be some pods left. Deer were absolutely hammering them this time last year, but totally different this time around with no drought and what seems to be more acorns around the farm. I haven't been up there since the opening weekend of bow season and haven't been to the "back field" since planting for the fall the last weekend of September. Hope to get at least 3 sits in between Friday and Saturday. Good luck to everyone.

Fields watching some good crossings also and I'm not sure what he will be able to shoot yet. We will play that by ear.

We going to the old trusty ladder stand where eli killed his first ever deer out of. We purposely stay out of that stand until youth weekend every year. I’ve bow hunted the property from different stands a couple of times this year and seen deer so hopefully the cooler weather has them on the move all weekend.

Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.

Good luck to all of you guys taking kids out this weekend. My son turned 16 a few months ago, so we will be going to Tennessee to see if he can get his first muzzleloader kill.

Going Saturday. Shooting house over an oat field in the A.M. Will try a ladder stand near a bedding area in the afternoon, if needed.

Me and my girl will be there in the morning , ground blind on a planted strip in a creek bottom. Taking the buddy heater in case she gets cold and some snacks. She will be 7 yr old in two weeks and first time on a deer hunt with the gun in her hand. She has been my hunting partner the last few yrs and was sitting with me on a kill last year so she knows what to expect . Think Im alot more excited about it than she is.

We'll be in a ground blind looking at a gas line. I have it set up close to where they cross the line coming out of hardwoods. My boy is still a little young to be shooting anything big enough to hunt with so Ill have my bow with me. Main goal is just to get him seeing deer right now.

Trying to mix it up on them? That's about the opposite I usually try

Going in blind tomorrow afternoon with hopes that something will want to eat some grass. Last year for my youngest daughter. We will hunt tomorrow afternoon and Sunday afternoon.
She will be playing "Taps" for the Veterans ceremony in our town Saturday a.m.. Pretty sure there will be some tears.
Thanks to all who have served and good luck in the woods.

We're in Jonesboro, Arkansas tonight, halfway to Missouri. Skipping the youth weekend at home to see if we can figure out a Midwest buck. Lots of good ones on cam and the rut should be hot. Got both boys with me...one will sit with me and the other with my father-in-law. Good luck to all the younguns this weekend! Can't wait to see some pics.
