I warmed the engine, cracked the plugs, sprayed PB and set up overnight. Next day I tried an easy to reach one to get a feel for it. I broke it really quick because I forgot to turn down the air pressure for the impact gun. The other five easy to reach went great but I broke the back two. I spent a bunch of time getting the three broken ones out using the tool (which does work well), and vacuuming the cylinder with a small vacuum tube. I used anti seize compound on the lower part of the plugs and got em all in. Then installed the cops/cop boots and springs with dielectric grease.

Worked like a champ for 80,000 miles til I had my first cop go bad. I cheaped out by buying a cheap set of 8 cops from Amazon for $40. I replaced all of them versus just finding the bad one. I kept all the originals because I’m sure if one of the cheapos goes bad then I can find a good oem one. Since I was gonna be in there I did the plugs 20k early. Man it was so easy because of the anti seize compound. That was over a year ago and a bunch of miles still going strong. I love this freaking truck. I hate that some have had bad experiences but not me.

Sorry for the long post, good luck. If you were close I’d be glad to help. My shop is slowly becoming a more organized nightmare. Some day I can see being able to work on something out there.
Ford Dealership changed 4 plugs and coils for $350.00 ON a 2006 f-150 , 5.4 at 100,000 miles. At 125.000 miles 2 more went bad. So I got mechanic friend put 8 new plugs and coils. No breakage.Lucky I guess. I had one bad plug more in hardest place, so I paid a mechanic shop $85.00 to replace it . No breakage. I read where the Ford motor company will reimburse anything over $300.00 within 125,000 miles with bills on settlement. My motor is using too much oil now, like two or three quarts every month? Truck has 158,000 miles now.

Check the EGR ports.

Hopefully they arent and have the new style in it.
Along with the spraying run a bottle or 2 of seafoam thru the gas tank before hand. It will eat the carbon ring buildup off the bottom of the plug that protrudes into the cylinder and hopefully come out easier.

We did that along with the penetrating oil (twice) on one with 160k on the original plugs and they came out easily.

The only thing I would add is crack them lose and pour some of the Seafoam in each one and let it soak in around the plug over night. It's the carbon buildup on the bottom of the plug that causes most of the problems. The protruding plug is the only difference between them and the pre 04's and I've never had a problem with the plugs on my 97 or 03. So bottom line is if you can remove or soften the carbon buildup they will usually come out with no problem.

How strong of an impact do you use to break them loose?

All 8 of mine were changed 20K miles ago at 135,000 miles. My mechanic had performed this on 5 or 6 150's previously. He vowed never to do one again after all 8 of mine broke in three pieces. Good luck! My guy charged $500, but charged me $600 for the headache. The dealer quoted me $2200.
