We fix more Barnett crossbows than any other crossbow. We've fixed 5 this week for blown up strings. The anti dry fire switch will engage before the arrow hits the string, causing the crossbow to dry fire.

I had nothing but problems from my Barnett crossbow. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy shoot one after the problems I had with it

I almost bought the Barnett Whitetail Pro last week. While shooting it at Cabela's one of the arrows that comes with the bow split. Made me worry about the bow being cheap made too. I ended up getting the TenPoint Turbo GT and love everything about it. It is well made and very accurate.

Damn. That’s bad. I shoot a Parker Enforcer and for $275 it’s been a jam up crossbow. How can they put out such a bad product for that kind of coin? I mean if someone drops 600 on anything I’d expect it to at least function properly.

Be careful placing those fingers in front of the string at full draw. Buddy of mine did that with a Barnett and went to load the bolt and lost 3 finger tips. Safety still engaged after it fired. The bolt ended up in the gutter of his house, luckily him or no one else was in front of it when it fired. After this happened he started reading up online and this was a common thing with that model. Barnett blamed it on user error.

Yeah, Barnett is never at fault according to them.

They're cheap for a reason. If you spend much time on crossbow sites you'll see that they don't get much respect.

I have a full size jackyl that's been awesome, but I don't think I'd buy another Barnett.
