My wife and I decided to get some ice cream tonight. We drove to Sonic about 10 minutes away, got our Sonic blasts and headed back home. We were just about 300 yards from the house when we hit a small deer! Our little trip to get ice cream will now cost over $500!

Be grateful if thats all it's going to cost and no one is hurt. Did you get the meat?

I couldn't find it. I got out and looked but it was in a curve, traffic was pretty steady, and all I had was the flashlight on my phone. As I was in the ditch looking another deer crossed in front of a car about 30-40 yards further down the road. I decided it was not worth the risk and left shortly after that. You're right though I should just count my blessings that no one got hurt! People's lives can change or end unexpectedly in a second!

When I was in my 20's I delivered papers as a 2nd job. Deer we're everywhere at 2-5am but I only hit one in my one year career. Lil one that I threw in the trunk and took it to momma and daddy's when I was done. We got the backstraps off it and momma fried us up some tenderloin with biscuits and gravy. Mmm mmm. I think it was the best I ever ate.

I made a ice cream run to jacks one night. I hit a doe the size of a full grown cow. Tore my car to pieces. I had 5 large milkshakes from jacks hit what was left of the windshield. Worst part I walk up to the deer it jumped up and staggered off.

Yes daylight may show a lot of damage!
