So I have a question maybe y'all hunted can help me with. I have this mature 4 to 5 yr old buck that has been on my camera since late August, well around sept 15 i put one of those mineral blocks out there to see if he would use it. Well of all the pics I have of him, he is bypassing the block and going straight for this puddle of water and drinking and going right past the block when he is headed back to where he is going. Now I don't blame him for drinking the water but I just don't understand why he hasn't touched my mineral block. Can anyone tell me why he is not touching the block???( By the way it's a ani-logic block.)

Then he would stop using the puddle. Bury the block till only the top is visible. Deer use the dirt too. When the block leeches into the surrounding soil they will dig it up. I've placed a block on a stump and they dug the stump up to get the dirt.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

Instead of wasting money on mineral blocks, just make sure all the mudholes stay full.

Have you tried Google?

Not that I'm a pro killer or anything, but the point of hunting is to kill the deer, not to get him to lick your rocks.

Sounds like he is patterned going to that mud hole. leave the rocks alone and hunt the mud hole.
