I think it’s worthwhile to use it but I also think hunters rely too much on it. For all the “I had a stud at 20 yards with my scent blowing right at him and he never smelled me! Hell I even farted!” you have the “I had a doe walk close to where I walked in to get to my stand and bolted.” There is no way to ever truly beat a deer’s nose, I don’t care what you use. You breath sitting in your stand and you sweat at least some climbing your stand so you are putting out human odor, even if it’s faint.
I use Dead Down Wind detergent and just rub cedar limbs on my clothes before heading to the stand and that has been enough. Basically, I get more out of a spot if I don’t over hunt it and only hunt it when the wind is right.
