Sounds like Baker took some money and stuck it in his own pocket and none was passed to any recruit.
This is what happened as I understand it. It was not aimed a recruitment to Bama, but to point Sexton towards a professional agent later on or at least arrange meetings with Sexton's family for that same purpose.
