She's just smarter than me I guess. Thank goodness she's on my team.
The old back finally gave out. I was wondering when it would happen. Three evenings now I have been contorted into weird positions doing work that had to be done. I had gotten pretty regular with the exercise and had no real problems since a month or so ago. I have hurt every day for going on two decades now but I've gotten used to it. I'm limping now and too dumb and too stubborn to quit.

Drilling a hole into a perfectly good hull that's always run dry just give me the heeby jeebies. 3m 3200 better work as advertised or I will be royally ticked.
I hate installing electronics on purdy boats - way too much work to get it right.

If I have to climb out from under that engine cover one more time to get zip ties or a stupid tub of flux or anything....I'm calling it quits for the night. The back pain is down through my hip and into my knee now. The aspirin are not working, the vodka is only working a little and if I take the lortabs, the job I do will look like ass.

I think you may have read something into my ramblings that was not there. My back is an asshole because it didn't stand up to all the abuse I gave it. The saw is a good thing. One of those tools you can do without if you absolutely have to but a much better job is done if you have the right one.

Just have to get the placement and angle of drilling right. I have a pencil, a tape measure, a speed square and a small level. Drunk as cooter brown but I am going to mount at least one rod holder if I complete the mission.
Complicated as chines arithmetic is the reason I have not tried it already. Can't power the electronics up because I have no fusible link (actually only need a 3 amp fuse) to get the power supply to it.

I can't help you with the booze issue, but LEXEL is far superior to 3M 3200, 100% silicone, or any other sealant on the market. That's what I used on my boat when I installed my electronics.

Got back to it and the battery gave out halfway through the next big hole. Of course I was into the booze last night and didn't put any batteries on the charger like a dummy. While I wait on the battery to heat up, I'm headed to the store(s) to get the last stuff I need. I also made the executive decision that since I have to cut two more holes for power outlets, I'm going to fill the stern up with rod holders. The two I'm installing now are 30 degree offset pointing outboard on the outside corners. I think I can get two more a little inboard that point straight back with 15 degree offsets. I'll pick them up from academy if they have them or dicks if they don't.

Couldn't get all the parts needed so just got fasteners and a 3 amp fuse. No one carries decent rod holders around here. A 3 amp fuse is also a hard thing to find and NAPA is high at a dollar each.
Just got the last big hole cut - had to break out the jig saw. There's a piece of 3/4" ply sandwiched in between the glass on the starboard side for some unknown reason. The drill got WAY hot on me. Dang I hurt so bad I bet I won't be on the lake dragging lures this weekend - after this fiasco, I'll most likely be in the bed for a day.

Of course I got 3/4" machine screws for the rod holders so that means the ones on the starboard side are prolly going to be too short.
Got all holes drilled. Thankfully the old cordless drill didn't burn up but I think it's a little slower than it used to be. Cleaned up the ones that are through hull with some mek in preparation for sealant and install.
