I've always just squirted some graphite in mine. Yeah some type of oil...I lost mine in the woods for two weeks once. Froze up a good bit but squeezed some oil in it without taking anything apart and it was fine. Still hunting with it years later.

I had my mongoose freeze up this year. I sprayed some oil in it and worked it a little, and it free'd up. Works flawlessly now.

You'll have to drive the pin out of the jaws to get it apart. There's a little spring in between the jaws so be careful and don't loose it. Only thing is if you do this it will void your warranty. Of course if you've let it rust up then your warranty is void anyway.

As far as I know, they have a lifetime warranty.
