Eye looks to be breaking down a bit. Maybe just regeneration, but no clear eye on radar right now. Looks like it's turned even more northward, too.

definitely turned more northerly, but also definitely still has a well-defined eye on radar.
She's currently eating Key West...eye is just a hair east of the center of the island.

Ya'll are gonna get more than a piece of it. The center will likely come right over or just left of ya'll. I'm still thinking Troy or Clayton will get the worst stuff inland. Ya'll should be checking your chainsaws to make sure they are working right today.

I have learned one thing, the weather people suck at predicting hurricanes. Last Wed-Thurs this thing was gonna go up east coast of FL into GA and SC. Now west coast of FL into GA and AL. A 400-500 mile error on the 5 day forcast. That is terrible I could have done that good and I can't even spell waether.

No you could not have done better. Believe it or not, the NHC is still in the learning phase of predicting what these storms will do. They are pretty good at 1-3 days out, after that it gets difficult. This storm is doing kinda like Ivan did in figuring where and when the turn will occur. If it turns at 1 degree just a little left way down there that means the difference between Mobile Bay or Ft. Walton for final landfall.

As others have said, there's no reason to think this warning won't keep inching west as Irma does....

Coming off of Key West, now, moving almost due north, about a mile or two east of the forecast trackline.

This would probably be a real good time to duck & cover in the Naples/Ft. Myers/Cape Coral area.

Yup, if it stays north it will have problems with the land and start to weaken. I have seen these things tend to follow the water where its warm so I still think its going to steer back to the west by a few miles. Those little wobbles left or right make all the difference in figuring where it will actually go.

I think it's going to follow the forecast pretty closely, with final landfall being somewhere east of Carabelle. Wind field is a lot smaller than it was, too...surviving buoys in Key West are showing sustained wind in the 50-60 mph range with gusts to 75-80, now, and they're only just outside of the eyewall. Eye is starting to look kind of ragged, too.

Well...I say the eye is starting to look kind of ragged, but it's still pretty well defined, so I guess that's kind of a relative comparison to what it was a few hours ago.

Yep. Its a little ragged right now, if it stays over water it will shape up. Regardless, its causing all kinds of mayhem far beyond the eye. Take a look at the big radar, numerous embedded tornadoes tearing through Florida right now. http://www.wjhg.com/templates/2015_Fullscreen_Radar

The photos I've seen don't look as bad as the destruction in the Caribbean Islands. It flattened them.
