You will not need a special plastic welder to fill the holes. A soldering iron and filler rod works fine. Although Harbor Freight has a pretty cheap plastic welder that will work.
Hopefully the bite marks are above the waterline. I'll be in Ochlockonee Bay so should just be able to walk back to shore most of the time if needed. Dragging a bloody grey suit may be a challenge with all the others around.
