Here is something folks need to understand. When the front picks up the storm and turns it north, it is going to move north really fast like Opal did. If Irma makes landfall as a Cat4or5 it may still be a Cat 2 some 150 or more miles inland. Opal was still blowing 75-90mph winds over Montgomery and Auburn.

Wife's sister just bought a house in Puerto Rico. Hopefully she has made her first homeowners insurance payment. Wife's parents live there as well. And this will be a first for the SIL's boyfriend. Talk about baptism by fire.

Opal (I think it was her), did a lot of wind damage here in north bama. Lots of cotton was picked and there were module covers ripped and scattered everywhere.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

It could be a cat 5 and I would say the same thing.

Prepare, plan, and execute.

There's a freakin cat 4 hurricane that will most likely make land fall in the southern states with in the week and no one knows where it will hit. There's nothing silly about that. People are about to loose there life's, house's, business, loved ones, ect.

Yep, spent 3 weeks cutting up pine trees in and around Troy. Not a fun time.

Heard rumors that shelves were emptying already so decided to run out and get my propane tanks swapped out and fill up my gas buggy, maybe grab some waters.

It was already a mad house, gas station with people filling jugs up all over, no water on the shelves anywhere.

I went to home depot last night to get some a/c filters and it was crazy already.they were sold out of all generators and flashlights. Guy said they're getting more generators in but they would all be gone within the 1st hour.
