For me it was really understand the basics of wind. That, plus finding a great tree with lots of acorns that was right in the middle of a funnel, and remembering to bend at the freaking waist. I'm not an experienced killer, but remembering all that got me my first and second last season. I missed one because I didn't bend at the waist, but got another chance a week later.
