Cactus Buck your a damn idiot Why do you say that? I happen to agree with a lot of his points. I don't see how it being legal is more beneficial to the majority of us Americans as it is illegal. The only way to find out is too let us vote on it and let the majority speak. It that constitutional enough for some of y'all? Medical marijuana will be abused the same as the majority of prescription drugs are. The main thing is that the millions of dollars going into the black market right now would be going instead into the state coffers where it could do some good. You have to stop thinking in terms of either smoking or not smoking pot. That's not the issue at all. The issue is simply is the money going through illegal channels or legal ones. You're right RH about the financial side of it and I know more than most of y'all that the state desperately needs revenue to balance the budget now that BP money will no longer be doing it. There are some good points on both sides especially about the amount of money being spent on incarceration on minor marijuana possession. We can't get a lottery or legalize gambling that would generate revenue so I don't see how this will happen.

How do these homeless people get to Colorado? How do they buy their weed? We can tell you but it won't mean anything. Some things you have to experience to get the feel for.

How do these homeless people get to Colorado? How do they buy their weed? Same way they did in the 60's with the migration to the Haight Ashbury district. Watched a segment by Lisa Ling hanging with some dope heads. It took the heroine addict 15 minutes to score enough cash twice to get his fix! That is all he does every day, beg and shoot, beg and shoot, what else is he gonna do? The jails are full of dope heads, usually not from actual drugs but more so from robbery etc... Heck I had a jacked up meth head try and come over my fence into back yard a few weeks ago, he was running from the cops. He and his gal were trying to steal some things a few blocks away. I live in Mayberry basically. I know everyone says weed is nothing to it, and maybe with legalization it would become so. The transition will be the hard part. DWI's in Colorada are way up. I've watched several LIBERAL documentaries on legalization, some serious problems have arisen. Legal growers were being robbed of their stashes or so they were saying. More profitable in the black market still. Anyone can massage the books to fit their purpose. I'm for medical marijuana, a friend dying with cancer recently smoked weed to help him get thru it. I have no problem at all with that scenario! The problem I have with it, no one will be totally honest in a discussion.

All I know is if it's legalized nationwide I'm buying stock in Taco Bell and Dominoes. I'm going with Funyuns and Krystal's.

people think it makes them happy. but in truth it steals their happiness. mary jane could be the most powerful drug out there. Its power is in its suddleness. almost immediatly it will cut your relationship and job oppertunitys in half. then your chance of a dui goes way up. what low paying job you do have, will have you in daily fear of getting injured and fired. meanwhile you will turn into an emotionless blob thats just a little off in the head, so little that nobody even notices. but too late 15 yrs of your life are gone, and your dreams are 15yrs behind. the truth is that alot of good people will end up like this if they legalize it. You talking about alcohol or pain pills?

It's not only "bad for you" it's bad for everybody else. Hospital related visits to cannibis go up. Property crime goes up, accidents (car and job related)go up because they're stoned. They lose time at work cuz their stoned (read the articles I posted with evidence to back up time lost at work) and then when they can't work they can't pay their bills and they end up on a social program or stealing to make ends meet. It's a spiral. All that ($ lost related to crime, health bills, car accidents, and wages lost) for taxes? It's not worth it. In the end I will bet you $$ that it costs more in the long run just to legalize something because it's the "trendy" thing to do.
To base the whole argument on it helps with revenue is a completely near sighted excuse.
Not only that... they're dumber for it. People that smoke pot on habitual basis are just plain stupid. I deal with them all the time. Are you going to start smoking up if it's legalized? What makes you think that legalizing it will make people that are against it start smoking it? What makes you think that keeping it illegal will keep people from smoking it?

I have a 58 year old neighbor that owns and operates multi-million dollar business based out of Decatur. He smokes pot every day at 5:00pm. Been doing it for 30 years. I'll let him know it's going to make him lazy. And it'll make him thieve and just be plain stupid! Lol The people that are against it have never even seen it.
