It'd have to be halfway up the bed and approaching the doors before I went to the level you went I guess. But that's just my opinion. It would have only ruined my day if the truck actually suffered some damage

I'm sure all of y'all self-righteous posters would not be totally fine if your truck got sunk at the boat ramp or close to it. Keyboard warriors out in full force I wouldn't respond but I guess you were directing your post to me and others so this is my thoughts. To me Phil a close call at the boat ramp would be a life could or may have been in danger through someones reckless actions. Not my Dad doing something that was an accident and didn't mean too. Even worse he could have accidentally sunk your truck and was unable to get out but you didn't mention that. Just your truck. You have insurance on that truck and it can be fixed or replaced. And if it was me I wouldn't have shared that on the internet it would have stayed just between me and him. Or out of respect for him you could have posted. Hey guys while my dad was backing the boat he accidentally went too far back and put the back end of the truck in the water over past the back axle. What do y'all think I should do in case of some damage. But that's just me. All I said was I would do anything to be able to go fishing with my daddy and I would. Your dad is still alive so I would't expect you to understand that. Enjoy him and everything y'all do. I'm done.

He should have slapped you for yelling at him about a truck. You should be ashamed, to be honest.

Life's too short to be hung up on something like this. You need to chill. I have a 2917 MB F22 Wake Boat, Dad has a 21' 721 Phoenix. We put boats in and out of water many times a year. Dad doing that to one of our trucks would be fodder for at least a year lol

That should have been a stress factor of 2/10. Chill the hell out.

Dang, you guys are giving this guy hell over nothing.
He had a stressful boat trip and wanted to vent.
Almost all my boat trips seem to have some kind of problems. LOL! Part of having a boat. I won't be venting to this group though! No mercy. agreed

I can see both side.
Him having just bought a new 2017 Tacoma and it being ONLY 10 DAYS owning it, the new isn't even out of the nostrils, AND possibly seeing it go for a swim?
Come on guys, ain't noone just going to whisper--- "stop!" with that new of truck.
I also can see being concerned over my father, and thankful to spend time with him.
But come on guys, Ain't noone gonna say they don't get mad at family.
I also know I've been bad at times of NOT being polite to family, particularly when in pain or hurting badly, because I know they love me, and I expect the same from them at times.
Glad everything worked out though, and it wasn't worse.

I'm with you, Phil. Some of these guys act like they've been gifted everything they ever owned. If my 10 day old truck was about to be sunk by my dad, there'd be lots of shouting going on. I don't care if the local Baptist preacher is backing me down. I'm anal about taking care of my stuff. The folks that don't understand that, should never bother borrowing anything of mine.

Exactly....I've always taken care of my stuff because I've had to. I've always driven beater vehicles and finally got a nice one and it almost vanished
