My brother is coming up from Mobile tomorrow with his wife and my 5 year old niece. He will be staying in Harpersville/Chelsea area and I am heading over from Tuscaloosa to have lunch with them. Any good restaurants suggestions between the Summit to Chelsea that is kid friendly??

There are literally hundreds of restaurants in that area, if they want cajun food tell them to go to Papado's it is right off the 459/280 exit very good food..

Meat and 3 would be Lloyds. A staple in that area forever.

For really good grub that is a nice twist on southern fare...I would recommend mudtown

Crappy little house in Cahaba Heights with horrible parking (Behind the Summit)

Or "The Ridge" in Vestavia. Owned by same folks. Easier to park at and similar food.

And they have some interesting gun paraphernalia on the walls. Apparently owners are competitive shooters.

I like Saigon Noodle House. Get one of their char-grilled pork sandwiches and a small bowl of the Pho.

Hartley's is good too. Good mac & cheese.

Chuy's up in the Summit is good Messican...

...So is Superior Grill.

Flip Burger actually has good burgers. Spensive but good. Try the smoked mayo on the french fries.

Salvatores has some pretty badass calzones.

Fish Market is good seafood and raw oysters.

Jim & Nicks for BBQ

Go by Steel City Pops and get a Buttermilk Popsicle for dessert and thank me later. Best Popsicle EVAR!

I'm going to be that guy and say Pappadeax's was good but not worth the cost to me, and the only time I've had Lloyds it was awful.

I've seen good things about Saigon noodle house, need to try that soon.

It's not on 280, but if you like Chinese food Mr. Chen's on Green Springs in the old Staples (I think) building is really good. It's attached to an Asian supermarket, which is worth walking through just to see everything.

808 Green Springs Hwy Ste, Homewood, AL 35209 (east of I-65, north of Lakeshore, on Green Springs)

Are you talking about to the Red Pearl? It is attached to the Aisian Supermarket and use to be a Quency's.

He's talking about Mr. Chen's further down Greensprings. It's next to Firehouse and Ollie's.

Only Mr. Chen's I know of it at Wildwood and is a buffet. I need to check this place out. I looked it up, looks a lot like the red pearl. Authentic Chinese food is really good and different than what most people are used to.

I think there is also a "Mr Chens" next to Green Valley Drugs.

Red pearl was tasty, I've seen Clem talk about Mr Chens before, i want to check that out.
